About

Dr Amy Shacaluga is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician with over 16 years of dedicated clinical experience in women's health.

Trained to a Consultant level within the NHS and holding dual accreditation from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM), Dr Shacaluga brings together the precision of conventional medicine with the depth of a lifestyle and functional medicine approach.

Her practice is built on a simple but powerful premise: that most women deserve more than a diagnosis and a prescription. They deserve to understand what is driving their symptoms, what is within their control, and what a genuinely personalised plan looks like for them.

Zen Garden Sand

Our Story

After more than a decade working at the forefront of women's health in the NHS, Dr Shacaluga recognised a consistent gap: women arriving with complex, overlapping symptoms — fatigue, hormonal disruption, weight changes, mood shifts, sleep problems — who had been told their results were "normal" and had nowhere left to turn.

Conventional medicine excels at diagnosing and treating acute conditions. But for the growing number of women navigating perimenopause, PCOS, cardiometabolic imbalance, and the cumulative effects of chronic stress, a different kind of medicine is needed — one that looks upstream.

This practice was founded to offer exactly that. At The Richmond House Clinic in Penarth, and via telemedicine to patients across the UK, Dr Shacaluga offers unhurried, evidence-based consultations that treat the whole person — not just the presenting complaint.

Every patient leaves with a personalised Lifestyle Medicine Plan built around the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: nutrition, movement, sleep, stress regulation, behaviour change, and targeted supplementation where appropriate. Where conventional medical treatment is indicated, it is integrated thoughtfully into that plan.

This is not alternative medicine. It is medicine done more completely.
